Entry for December 26, 2005

Yes, I had a good Christmas, although an exhausting one looking after little kids!

Recently I've had some interesting chats with Phil, who's the latest addition to my 360 friends.  He mentioned that Jessica Cox (who was also born without arms) is learning to fly a plane.  Oh, the things you can do with enough time...

In an effort to find a picture for Glenn (the attached illustration for the poem "Disobedience" by A.A. Milne) I found a very good parody about Jim Morrison (starting "James James Morrison Morrison" of course).  Strangely, Google won't let me search for this if I'm logged in as me...

Since Glenn (with some justification) thinks this is so funny, I'm going to include a link to this site.

Merry Christmas!

Entry for December 20, 2005

I've just done another of Larry's infernal tests, this one to see whether I'm evil or not.  Here's how I did.  I hope my evilness didn't make them think I was depressed (see last line or two!)

Are You Evil?
Kerry, you're an Evil Middle High!

Well, you're kinda evil. They haven't reserved a place for you in Hell yet, but the leasing agents are starting their calls. (Sorry, no air conditioning.) We're guessing you find others' pain funny, your backstabbing knife is probably pretty sharp, and your sexual wiles have likely brought you enjoyment at the expense of your bunkmates a time or two. If more than one of those three things rings true, consider yourself a card-carrying evil person. If you're interested in recanting the evil thing, sensitivity counseling isn't a bad idea. Or else find a more sadistic career, like a bouncer or a metermaid. But hey, to each his own, and if your evilness fits, wear it. Keep reading for more evil details!

So, you have a healthy sex drive — good for you! No one likes a prude. In general, you give as well as you get, though everyone can get a little selfish under the covers, so don't beat yourself up about going for the big one on your birthday. And while you're at it, go ahead and admit it — you've probably flashed a big smile to get your way in the bedroom before. But for the most part, you strike us as a pretty generous lover who's doing well at keeping your raw, sexual power in check. Yeah, baby!

Don't feel too bad about hiding your anger. At least, not right now. When your spleen ruptures from internalized stress, then you can feel bad about it. Passive people act that way because they're ultimately sweet and don't want to upset anyone. While that may work for the short term, you end up looking like a real back-stabber when you, ah, stab someone in the back. Try to deal with your problems up front, and you probably won't have to renew your concealed weapons permit this year.

We're not going to say you're a bad person, but you're toeing the line. A little advice: Try to think about how your victim will feel before you pull your next dirty prank (we don't care how funny it is when you take out a classifed ad and sell someone's car for them). You may think cruelty is funny, but your friends don't — especially the ones who've been burned by your verging-on-evil ways. Listen to your conscience a little more, okay?

Entry for December 18, 2005

According to my source (who will remain nameless!), "the devs have found my blog", so hi to "the devs"!

For those of you who don't know, "devs" (devotees) are (usually, at least) men attracted to women with disabilities.

Well, that explains why I suddenly got a load of strange 360 friend requests!

I took the IQ test Larry has a link to and here's how I did.  Apparently I'm a visionary philosopher!  I wonder if that pays well.

Congratulations, Kerry!

Your IQ score is 140

This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others.

Your Intellectual Type is Visionary Philosopher. This means you are highly intelligent and have a powerful mix of skills and insight that can be applied in a variety of different ways. Like Plato, your exceptional math and verbal skills make you very adept at explaining things to others — and at anticipating and predicting patterns. And that's just some of what we know about you from your IQ results.

I thought I'd change to  a theme less boring than no theme at all (or something as trivial as "brown") - why not "shoes"?  What do you think?

I'm sure I also had something interesting to say, but it seems to have slipped my mind.  Oh yes, a couple of people have told me I look like Marcia Cross out of Desperate Housewives, but I don't see it myself...

Larry and I were talking about the Raggy Dolls, which I used to like as a kid (did anyone else?)  I found an interesting website about them.

According to Larry, I'm Lucy :)

Larry also liked my latest picture, so here it is again...

When's someone going to do something nice for Mummy (i.e., me)?

I propose that every day should be Mothers' Day.  Any objections?

I've been too stressed to write much recently!  Welcome to duane for connecting to me though :)

Entry for October 29, 2005

Due to popular demand (no, really!) here's another entry.  I've been too busy to say much recently due to the kids being way too much work.

I've had some good chats with Nick, aka Yorkie who has a daughter the same age as mine.  I don't think he's on 360 as of yet.  He was impressed I remembered his name, and I was impressed he could spell "Mackenzie" correctly!  You'd be surprised how few people get this right, so maybe marrying someone with an easy to spell surname was a good move.

I've also been spending some time on the disabilities-r-us chat, but it's a bit cliquey.

Do you think Neil would go for the invitation below?  (It's from tel_howitiz, if you're curious.)

Sent to: Kerry

Hi Kerry (& Neil). No, I'm not a weird freak or anything, but just thought to myself "why should this lovely lady miss out on adult fun with my fiends and me?" (Perhaps you don't miss out of course). I'd like to invite you to keep in touch by connecting to me on Yahoo! 360. Please take a lok at my profile to see the sort of things 'm interested in. Even if you're not into the same, or perhaps are curious, we could chat more. Terry xx

Entry for October 12, 2005

Recently I've heard from a few people who were veterans of the IRC channel #pumpkin around 1999 or so.  I don't think there's ever been a good substitute for this, and nobody seems to have been able to recreate what it was!  irc.disabilities-r-us.com has a disabled channel, but unlike #pumpkin, it's not very admirer friendly.

Well, I'm rambling.  I thought I could write reasonable prose until I started trying to keep a blog!

Entry for October 03, 2005

Neil and I have been married 7 years today!  Happy anniversary to us.  What would be nice is being able to go out, of course.  I did get flowers and a card though... which was nice.

Entry for October 02, 2005

This weekend I've been talking to Kelly, who's a Native American from Montana.  It turns out that it gets down to -35F there, and that's without the windchill, and yet the schools stay open in those conditions!  That's quite a contrast to over here, where everything collapses if one inch of snow falls (especially if it's "the wrong type").

By the way, Glenn's blog is really interesting - have a look!

Entry for September 21, 2005

Welcome to Glenn for signing up as my friend!  He's one of my oldest online friends and one of the few with a decent 360 profile  :)  I was surprised I learnt quite a lot about him from his profile.

I've now talked to David 's teacher properly and some of his classmates' parents.  I feel young compared to most of them :)

Welcome also to David (no, not my son!) for hooking up :)

Entry for September 17, 2005

David started school this month and seems to love it!  I'm looking forward to having more discussions with his teacher.

I recently got in touch with Carolyn, who has short arms and is a mother of twins.  It's nice to know there are people who know what I'm going through :)
