I had a dream last night that I bought a Porsche. I remember wondering vaguely if they even came in automatic form, but obviously they do because I had one. Obviously I'm subconsciously worrying that my 1998 Fiesta is going to pack up soon and I'm going to have to get another car adapted.

I'm an auntie again! Vanessa Isabel Clifford was born on December 10 and weighed 7 pounds and 13 ounces. (And yes, she has arms :) )

What's the deal with all this yahoo messenger spam, trying to get me to go to cuddly.tv or whatever (I never have, nor do I want to know what it is). There was a time when there wasn't any messenger spam, and now there's tons.

Another weird thing I've noticed concerns the search facility on yahoo. Go to "http://search.yahoo.com" and type things. It tries to complete your search term. I typed "Kerry Mackenzie" and waited. I wonder how it decides what to insert as a completion term? Is it based on what other people have entered in the past?

Here's my obligatory at-least-monthly post. I tried Second Life again recently. Apparently it IS just a graphical talker. So why is everyone else so hooked on it, and why do they spend their real-life money buying worthless "real estate" in the game? It's a mystery to me.

I'm also exposing someone with a fake myspace profile that included a picture of his wife. His wife looks exactly like Lindsay Lohan. After this was pointed out to him, the picture disappeared. Funny, that.

Time for another rambling, disjointed post. I had a strange dream last night in which I died and they mentioned it on BBC Radio Carlisle. (I just checked, and this doesn't exist. It's called BBC Radio Cumbria now.) In another part of the dream, I'd decided to start a career as a make up artist. I don't understand any of this.

I had a discussion with Larry recently about socks. In the 70s/80s, a popular design for girls' socks was to have tiny diamond-shaped holes in them. Are we right in thinking that this no longer exists?

Does anyone else find Facebook really confusing? I'd spend more time there if I had some idea what the hell was going on. Every time I sign in, I've been chomped by a zombie or something equally bizarre has happened. MySpace may be annoying, but at least I understand what's going on!

I'm not sure if anyone still reads this (I'm guessing yes if the hit counter is accurate) but...

Donna recommended I get a Second Life character, which I now have. She's really into it. I tried it a couple of times but it seems very confusing (plus it gives me something like motion sickness). Is anyone here on there?

What else have I been up to? Well, I tried ice skating for the first time since I was a student. I remembered being reasonably good, but I was embarrassingly bad, and glad to get the skates off!

I think the time is right to rant about a bad experience I had last week. On Wednesday, Neil's new boss Patrick (and his wife Lisa) invited us to his house for supper. Things were going OK until we sat down and I got my foot out to start eating. At this point, Patrick told me to "put that away!" I found this very rude and was incredibly embarrassed. He tried to laugh it off but I never got anything like an apology. Lisa was nice, but I really don't understand why she's with him. So, Patrick, if you're reading this: you are a git.

Yes, another of my infrequent postings - blame the kids again :)

I'm starting to think myspace is scary - it's subtly censored, and Murdoch-controlled. What less could you want? Try referring to AIM (the messaging program) in a private myspace message to someone and see what happens! Some people I know are migrating to Facebook, which doesn't seem to have these disadvantages. (I'm there too.)

Although these entries are getting very infrequent, everything is OK with me - I just never seem to have any time and I always have kids clinging to my legs.

While looking for myself on google recently, I noticed that some people have been searching for me in disturbingly odd ways. ("Kerry Mackenzie & England" was one of the sensible ones.) Why is it even possible to notice this? You stumble on a page that looks like a long list of search terms, but if you click on it, bad things happen.

This post could do with a little editing, but I don't want to delay it by another month...

So Tony Blair is stepping down. Finally! You can blame me for voting him in, although I voted Tory in the local election. (Boos from crowd.) Maybe I should change the name of this blog to Right Foot World.

I wonder why it's such a struggle to come up with one post a month? Maybe I've been too busy to have anything happen to me (I know that sounds paradoxical), but I'm starting to have more time. Eventually, I might even come up with something interesting to say.

I don't want all of March to pass by without a blog entry! I've been very busy with the kids so not very visible on yahoo. I have been on irc a bit though. I'm now the mother of a 7 year old, which makes me feel somewhat old :)

What I don't understand is why I've recently been thinking in a Scottish accent - I'm probably cracking up. (My dad is Scottish, for those of you who don't know. Blame him for my red hair.)

Larry has pointed out to me that American Idol Discriminates. Specifically, a guy with no arms was denied a chance to sing in front of the main judges because of his disability. I thought they'd be above such things, but what do I know?

Well, thanks to Mike, I'm now on Facebook (see my blogroll for the link). It's remarkably indiscreet, and likes showing lots of embarrassing detail. We'll see how it goes.

Sorry I've been quiet recently - I've been really busy with various things. I have been active on myspace, although I think I still prefer 360.

I'm worried I may be turning into a conservative, which would have horrified me from 10 years ago. Maybe there's still hope for me, but I find myself finding David Cameron attractive and thinking Bree from Desperate Housewives has a good attitude to life. (She does make some good sarcastic comments though.)

I blame Neil for claiming I look like Marcia Cross. Or maybe I'm just manifesting guilt at having voted for Tony Blair.

I've started hanging around on irc again in the same disability channel I used to chat in about 8 years ago. People even remember me - I must have made an impression! It's weird being in that environment again, but a good side-effect is that it makes me feel younger. Someone asked me if I married someone from the channel. That would have been interesting, but I doubt I could get Neil anywhere near an irc window!
